Shabodi Raises $3.3M to Help Create a New Digital Economy Via 5G

Shabodi, an infotech startup based in Toronto, has raised $3.3 million in seed funding to help developers create the new generation of 5G-based applications.

The oversubscribed round was led by Blumberg Capital with participation from Counterview Capital, SineWave Ventures, Shasta Ventures, MAVA Ventures, Green Egg Ventures, Maccabee Ventures, CEAS Investments, Supernode Ventures, and Lorimer Ventures. The seed funding comes months after a successful pre-seed funding round led by Forum Ventures. Bruce Taragin, managing director at Blumberg Capital, referred to the firm’s participation in the round by stating:

“5G will disrupt many aspects of enterprise technology and transform entire industries. Shabodi’s team and technology have the potential to help power our future economy, by accelerating the deployment of 5G. We are proud to lead the company’s Seed round and partner with a visionary team of industry experts to address one of the most impactful developments of this decade.”

Founded in 2020 by Vikram Chopra and Harpreet Geekee, Shabodi aims to help enterprises monetize their 5G to accelerate the inception of industry 4.0 applications while also improving ROI. The startup achieves this via its Application Enablement Platform (AEP), which facilitated the deployment of 5G applications via its novel Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). Vikram Chopra, co-founder and CEO at Shabodi, said about this mission:

“What 4G was to consumers, 5G is to enterprises. Our vision for Shabodi is to provide the building blocks which every next-gen Industry 4.0 application will be built upon, and by doing so empower C-level executives to unlock new revenue streams by deploying 5G within their businesses.”

With 5G rollouts around the world continuing to advance, enterprises are looking to capitalize on the technology’s benefits to improve the efficiency and potential of their applications. By providing an AEP that is not only accessible to enterprises but also to system integrators and telcos, Shabodi believes it can help millions when it comes to leveraging the programmability inherent to 5G networks.
