IAM Robotics names Jay Link chief commercial officer

IAM Robotics, a Pittsburgh-based developer of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) for material handling and piece-picking applications, named Jay Link its new chief commercial officer. Link joins the team with nearly 30 years of experience as an executive across organizations focused on supply chain technology, automation, material handling, software, and robotics.

In this new role, Link will lead IAM Robotics’ commercial strategy and activities focused on marketing, sales, solution design, and customer success to drive business growth and market share in both current and new markets.

“The opportunities IAM Robotics has in the material handling space are tremendous,” said Link. “I’m excited to help put IAM Robotics on the map and unlock AMR applications for businesses of all sizes.”

Link specializes in building high-performing teams that deliver results and has a keen ability to commercialize technology-driven innovations to solve critical business challenges.

Link previously held executive leadership roles with Kiva Systems, which now Amazon Robotics after being acquired by Amazon in 2012 for $775 million, Berkshire Grey, and Seegrid. He was named Seegrid’s chief revenue officer on January 26. His roles have varied widely, spanning sales, marketing, product management, and customer success.

Link holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the University of Houston.

IAM Robotics has made a number of appointments over the last few months, including:

  • Joni Hildebrand named vice president and controller on September 1
  • Juliana Naugle named VP of people operations on August 24
  • Krishna Venkatasamy named SVP of engineering on August 17
  • Lance VandenBrook named CEO on May 4
