Grit Daily House: Texas, Data, and Democracy

Another year of South by Southwest (SXSW) has gone by and with it another edition of Grit Daily House. This year saw 206 San Marcos Street host dozens of speakers from BlockTelegraph, CoinTelegraph, Benzinga, Digital Trends, Celcius Network, Beyond Meat, Linqto, and Lifekey for 7 days of networking, panels, food, and music with a focus on “Blockchain & NFTs”

As a space centered around networking, sharing, and learning, all of the sessions counted with seasoned players of the blockchain space who shared their unique insights on topics like cryptocurrency, NFTs, DeFi, P2E, regulation, and much more. However, one of these panels was distinguished by the diversity of topics it covered, which ranged from the role of Crypto in the Russian invasion of Ukraine to the divergence between Justin Justin Trudeau’s looks and policies.

Cointelegraph’s Senior Reporter and Blockchain Analyst Rachel Wolfson, CircleClick Co-founder & CEO Anne Ahola Ward, and Data Rights Activist and Chair Of The Board Of Directors at Gryphon Digital Mining Brittany Kaiser answered the audience’s questions on what was originally set to be an all-female panel discussion. The change in plans was fortunate as it created a chance for attendees and speakers to interact more directly while giving place to an earnest and dynamic conversation.

The topics discussed in the AMA include crypto’s involvement in the Russia-Ukraine war, Biden’s executive order on digital assets, Justin Trudeau’s clash with crypto through the emergencies act, the relationship between the crypto industry and law firms, the challenges legislators face when it comes to understanding blockchain, crypto wallet security, and more.

If you were unable to attend Grit Daily House at Austin and missed the stream, worry not. The entire AMA is available via YouTube for anyone interested in the insights of some of the most active members of the Texan crypto community.
