This week on SUDS, the Startup Daily TV podcast: NFTs go ape, the troubles with crypto, the end of demo day, tech’s election reaction

Every week on the Startup Daily TV show, we talk to more than two dozen founders, CEOs, investors and experts about what’s happening in tech.

Now you can catch the best of the show with the weekly podcast, SUDS.

Welcome to the new, improved SUDS!

We’ve tweaked the format and each week host Simon Thomsen will have a special guest join him to discuss the big news of the week, tell their story and also tackle the big issue in their area of expertise, before we run through the highlights of the show for the week.

We kick off the podcast SUDS with Lisa Wade, CEO, of ASX-listed DigitalX, the world’s first publicly listed blockchain technology company, founded in 2014.

We look at actor and producer Seth Green’s misfortune after he was sucked in by a phishing scheme and lost three Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs, including one he based a new TV show on. We meet Lisa and hear about her career and DigitalX, then look at the fall out from TerraUSD collapse as well as JP Morgan’s announcement that Bitcoin is their preferred “alternative” investment.

From the Startup Daily show this week, we hear from Main Sequence Ventures partner Phil Morle on where to next for startup accelerators – and why demo day should be cancelled.

Evoke Ag has just raised $50 million to help agriculture manage its carbon emissions on the path to net zero. Founder Dr Anastasia Volkova joined us from the US, also sharing the extraordinary story of helping her Ukraine-based mother escape Russia’s war on her birthplace, where many of her team, friends and family remain.

And with the guard changed at The Lodge, we spoke to Will Richardson from VC Giant Leap and Ron Cauci, CEO of AIIA, for reactions from the tech sector to the election of the Albanese government.
