David Pinn has been promoted to CEO of Brain Corporation effective November 1, 2022. Pinn succeeds Eugene Izhikevich, the founder of the company, in the role. Izhikevich will continue as the company’s executive chairman.
“David is a phenomenal leader who has been key in creating incredible success for our customers and driving innovation throughout our company and industry wide,” Izhikevich said. “He has been my trusted business partner for years, and I couldn’t be happier to recommend him as CEO. Brain Corp is ready for its next chapter of leadership as it continues to mature and flourish. I look forward to continuing to help David build on my vision of having robots everywhere helping people.”
Pinn joined Brain Corp in 2017 as the company’s vice president of strategy, and eventually served as its chief strategy officer and most recently its chief financial officer.
In his time at Brain Corp, Pinn has helped lead the company’s transformation from a robotics hardware company to a software as a service (SaaS) company. He also played an important role in securing over $100 million in funding from investors like Softbank Vision Fund and Qualcomm Ventures.
“I’m honored that Eugene and our Board have given me the opportunity to lead Brain through the next phase of our journey,” Pinn said. “Eugene has built a talented and passionate team focused on improving lives through automation. I’m thankful for our team, our partners, and our customers, who have made Brain the leader in commercial robotics.”
Before joining Brain Corp, Pinn was the vice president of finance at Antenna 79, a company working on improving wireless connectivity with unique antenna designs. Pinn also spent six years at Qualcomm where he held a number of positions, most recently senior finance manager of services strategy.
Brain Corp offers an artificial intelligence software platform called BrainOS. The platform powers fleets of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) that work indoors or outside. The platform provides intuitive operation, actionable insights with fleet tools, safety and privacy, consistent software updates and innovative payloads.
