SLAMcore expands into China, Korea with Intralink

SLAMcore, a company that develops vision-based location and mapping for robots, autonomous machines and consumer electronics, announced that it would be further expanding in China and Korea with its latest partnership with Intralink.

Intralink is a UK-based business development consultancy. Its offices in Shanghai and Seoul will allow SLAMcore to pursue new business opportunities in the countries. 

“SLAMcore perfectly fits the profile for successful scale up businesses ready to do business in Asia,” Daniel Kollar, Shanghai-based head of mobility at Intralink, said. “It has a unique proposition, a robust business model and there are wide-ranging applications for its technology across manufacturing, transportation, medicine, logistics, agriculture, entertainment and more… We’re excited to be representing the company in Korea and China.”

SLAMcore creates software that helps robots and drones identify physical space, objects and people around them to navigate the world. Its algorithms can be used in all kinds of robots, whether it be helping robotic vacuum cleaners or autonomous vehicles. 

SLAMcore’s localization and mapping algorithms are created to work with low-power, high performance processors and low cost cameras and still provide millimeter-level accuracy in real-time. Its algorithms provide robotics developers with a robust and flexible spatial intelligence solution, something that could take developers years to create for a single product line or use case. 

Its technology is currently being used by over 75 companies, and has been used to navigate nearly 10,000 km.

SLAMcore was founded in 2016, and closed its last funding round in May 2022. The $16 million Series A round was led by ROBO Global Ventures and Presidio Ventures, and included participation from Samsung Ventures and Toyota Ventures.
