OTTO Motors finds first AMR reseller in UK

OTTO Motors, the industrial division of Clearpath Robotics and a developer of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), named Guidance Automation its first reseller in the United Kingdom. OTTO Motors provides AMRs for material handling inside manufacturing facilities and warehouses and has more than three million hours of driving experience.

Leicester-based Guidance Automation will offer the OTTO 100, 750 and 1500 AMRs. The AMRs will be offered with Guidance Automation’s attachments and support services for a complete solution for material handling automation. 

Guidance Automation’s attachments include briNgbot and iNcaart. briNgbot is equipped with light-directed picking modules and shelves to transport multiple totes or shipping cartons.  iNcaart provides a conveyor-top for AMRs for payload transfer from conveyor-to-conveyor or vehicle-to-vehicle loads.

“Often, automation is seen as a complex disruption which will completely overhaul existing processes – particularly for SMEs (small and medium enterprises),” said Paul Rivers, managing director, Guidance Automation. “But logistics businesses do not need to completely understand or have the skills and knowledge to achieve automation success. Instead, we will be doing this for the customer. We will ensure that the software is up to date, maintain the AMRs, provide additional functionality with our top modules, and provide the support required to ensure the transition to automation is seamless.”

The Robot Report recently interviewed OTTO Motors co-founder and CEO Matt Rendall to discuss the current state of AMRs and the importance of simulation in helping customers deploy AMRs. Rendall also spoke at the 2022 Robotics Summit & Expo, which is produced by The Robot Report‘s parent company WTWH Media.

OTTO recently released new software that gives customers better visibility and depth of their fleet’s performance. It also recently launched an autonomous counterbalanced fork truck that can lift up to 2,640 lb.

In December 2021, OTTO Motors named Carolyn Garvey and Don Leslie as co-presidents of the company. Both of the new executives came from Prodomax Automation Ltd, where they served as co-CEOs.
