LunaJoy Health Raises $2.4M Seed

LunaJoy plans on using its newly acquired funds to grow its user base, increase its staff and expand its geographic footprint.
LunaJoy Health, a Y-Combinator-backed startup founded and led by two female physicians and credited as the only full-stack mental health solution focused on the needs of women at each stage of their life from pregnancy through menopause, has raised $2.4 million in an oversubscribed seed investment round.

LunaJoy is a precision mental health platform specializing in women’s mental health during life transitions, including adolescence, pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, miscarriage, loss, perimenopause, and aging. Utilizing technology and data science, the platform provides intelligent touchpoints that decrease costs and accelerate outcomes.

“When we launched our digital clinic one year ago, we wanted to make sure women’s health issues were treated with the care, respect, and seriousness they deserve and not dismissed by the medical establishment, which is so often the case,” says Sipra Laddha, MD, CEO and Co-Founder of LunaJoy. “Today’s raise announcement not only shows that others share the same passion for our mission, but that women of all backgrounds will get the help and care they so richly deserve.”

Founded by Sipra Laddha, MD, and Shama Rathi, MD, in April 2021, LunaJoy opened its digital doors in October 2021. The platform provides full-spectrum mental health services, including medication management, therapy, group therapy, and peer coaching. By directly integrating with medical clinics, women are able to access care in coordination with their entire care team, ending the fragmentation seen across medical and behavioral healthcare. LunaJoy works to accelerate treatment and outcomes through the use of integration, technology, and specialized care.

“As physicians and mothers, we have intimate experience with how difficult navigating the medical system can be,” said Shama Rathi, M.D., Co-Founder of LunaJoy. “We want to ensure through LunaJoy that other women won’t have those same challenges.”
