Intch Unveils Virtual ‘Rage Room’ Where Laid Off Tech Workers Can Vent

New York – The Intch networking platform has launched a virtual rage room to help professionals cope with the emotional impact of Big Tech layoffs. The tool allows laidoff workers to “roast” anyone, presumably their former boss or the owners of the company that tossed them out, based on their LinkedIn profile or name and job title.

Intch applied OpenAI’s viral ChatGPT to generate provocative and funny workplace-related stories. Users can simply enter basic information about any person to read their twisted professional bios or detailed account of the corporate disasters they presided over.

“Layoffs don’t just affect people who leave the company but also the ones who keep their jobs,” said Yakov Filippenko, Intch founder and CEO. “Many survivors experience burnout, guilt, and even anxiety about possibly being the next one to get cut. Our aim is to help employees deal with stress in a fun and efficient way so that layoffs don’t affect their productivity and corporate performance.”

In 2022, tech companies laid off around 100,000 employees, which is a 649% increase from cuts in the sector the year before.

Intch provides a solution for recently unemployed professionals, helping them bounce back quickly by tapping into professional networks. The startup’s technology matches top-level professionals by using AI-based algorithms to allow users to exchange professional favors.

According to Intch’s data, job seekers are eight times more likely to get a response to their cold message or an intro to a prospective employer if they have mutual connections with the person they approached.

The startup analyzed peer-to-peer requests and found out that 24% of users help others if they have “friends in common.” In comparison, only 3% responded to cold pitches from complete strangers with no mutual connections.

“Most highly paid freelance gigs, jobs, or business opportunities are never advertised,” said Filippenko. “They’re filled through networking and referrals.”

Intch is a networking platform where top professionals can post pitches instead of their resumes and receive appropriate offers from other users. The company raised $1.2 million in a round led by AltaIR Capital to disrupt the future of work with its proprietary AI user-matching algorithms. The startup was launched by serial entrepreneur Yakov Filippenko. Intch currently connects more than 100K users from 130 countries – over 60% are C-level executives. The platform also helps with creating a professional biography, provides pre-designed templates for requests, and an easy-to-use framework for introductions.
