Celebrating the Voices of Women: HerVoice

As the world continues to grapple with achieving gender equality, the UN warns that it could take nearly 300 years to achieve full equality at our current rate of progress. This is a worrying reality, considering that gender equality is so important for our society.

When women have equal rights and opportunities, we build a better future for all. When women take charge, more children attend school, more funds are invested in local communities, and more families are fed. Companies also see higher returns and improved employee engagement and collaboration. It’s clear that when women exercise the power of their voices, they catalyze peace and prosperity for groups that would otherwise go unseen and unheard.

To celebrate Women’s History Month and spotlight women who are using their voices to reimagine our future, Warrior Love Productions is launching the HerVoice digital collectibles, with a percentage of sales going CARE. The collection, which consists of 3,905 pieces, represents the 3.905 billion women in the world. Blending a poem written by Warrior Love Productions founder and CEO, Melissa Jun Rowley, choreography by renowned dancers Delacyn and Ty Spectives, and AI generative art by Creative Aya, the collectibles are the vision of WLP creative director and recording artist, Visionnaire, who also designed and arranged the multilingual performance of the poem. CARE has been at the forefront of supporting women around the world with community-based efforts to improve basic education, increase access to quality health care and expand economic opportunity for all.

The spoken word piece written by Melissa sits as a foundation to the artwork. The piece is called To Have Faith in Her and was read by 26 women in their own languages representing 21 different countries.

“To have 26 women from around the world contribute their voices by reading the poem has made the creative process of this project so special. In essence, HerVoice is about the HerVoice Digital Collectiblesolidarity, resilience and hope of women across different cultures and continents. For me, the digital collectibles also represent multi-generational connections between women and having faith in our youth to lead. That’s why I titled the poem, To Have Faith in Her. Overall, what I hope people will see and feel when they experience all the layers of the artwork—the poem, the choreography, the AI generative animations and the sound design, is the women and girls they cherish.”

I was honored to be asked to contribute my voice to the reading Melissa’s spoken word piece and integrated into the final work. As I read the words in Spanish, it gave me chills as I thought about all of the young girls in my life and my desire to leave them a better world, one where they can flourish, dance freely, laugh without inhibition, experience all of nature’s beauty, and be as fierce or as soft as they desire.
