MassRobotics, FESTO, Mitsubishi Electric Automation, MITRE, Novanta and other key players in the healthcare and robotics space recently initiated the Healthcare Robotics Startup Catalyst Program. The goal is to advance healthcare robotics companies by providing the connections, guidance and resources they need to grow and succeed.
During a session at the Robotics Summit & Expo, which is held at the Boston Convention Center from May 10-11, attendees will hear pitches from the following seven healthcare robotics startups currently in the catalyst program: Able Human Motion, Acumino, Andromeda Robotics, Maestro Surgical, Robot on Rails, Unlimited Robotics and Zeta Surgical. The session will be held at 4:15 PM on May 10.
Able Human Motion is a Barcelona-based startup that is developing exoskeletons to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities. The company’s ABLE exoskeleton actively assists individuals with mobility impairments to stand up, walk and sit down.
Acumino offers a state-of-the-art training platform that enables robot makers and users to perform tasks never before possible. The platform is compatible with most robots and seamlessly integrates with large language models, like ChatGPT, allowing users to teach robots using natural language.
Andromeda Robotics was founded with a mission to revolutionize human-robot interactions. The company is working to develop Abi, a humanoid robot that will act as a companion, confidant and friend. Abi will use AI and machine learning algorithms to learn from her interactions with humans. She can recognize faces, respond to questions and express emotion.
Maestro Surgical is developing patented Single Chip Integrated Motion Control (SCIMC) technology, which is emotional control technology with superior performance in real time-ness, high synchronization, miniaturization and high response. It is also working on proprietary medical image processing algorithms that can rapidly complete segmentation and registration using pre-op CT data and in-op X-ray data.
Robot on Rails is working to create a machine that will make implementation automation much easier for laboratories. It aims to eliminate complicated programming and extended development cycles from robotics deployments.
Unlimited Robotics is developing a service robot called Gary. Gary will be able to perform a variety of tasks at home, in an office and in other business environments. The multi-functional robot comes with an integrated app store that is designed for different use cases.
Zeta Surgical is developing a real-time stereotactic navigation and robotics system for neurosurgery and neuro-intervention. The device is based on the company’s proprietary real-time registration backend, which allows the registration to happen with submillimeter accuracy in real-time on full awake, non-immobilized patients.
You can find the full agenda for the Robotics Summit here. The Robotics Summit & Expo is the premier event for commercial robotics developers. There will be nearly 70 industry-leading speakers sharing their development expertise on stage during the conference, with 150-plus exhibitors on the show floor showcasing their latest enabling technologies, products and services that help develop commercial robots. There also will be a career fair, networking opportunities and more.
