Blisser Raises $1 mln in Seed Funding to Provide Socially-Impactful Causes With a Platform

Blisser, a Stockholm-based digital entertainment startup, has raised $1 million in seed funding to bring climate change, global issues, and charitable causes to the front stage.

The funding round was led by Tinder co-founder Justin Mateen and Talent Resources Ventures’ Michael Heller, with participation from several angel investors. The capital will allow Blisser to boost the development of its platform ahead of its launch this fall. Mateen referred to his participation in the round by stating:

“I invest in people, not in ideas, especially when evaluating a company pre-launch. Sara and her team’s dedication to the future, energy, and vision for climate change truly resonated with me. I encourage everyone to keep an eye on their launch this fall.”

Founded by Sara Fernstrom in 2020, the startup was envisioned as a tool to provide those who are anxious about climate change and social issues with a means to connect with those making a change. By bringing both parties together, the startup aims to drive social change to create a new future. Fernstrom, who has more than 10 years of experience as an entrepreneur and talent industry executive, said about this mission:

“We call it entertainment with a conscience. Our platform enables users to connect with a broad roster of iconic talent while meaningfully giving back. Blisser is the only market player where giving back is an integral part of the business model.”

While members of the younger generations are becoming increasingly conscious about the need for action to stop climate change and increase social equality, existing platforms have failed to allow them to be part of the change. By focusing on those wanting to enact change, Blisser expects to channel the efforts of Gen Z and millennials by removing the toxicity other platforms have been known for over the past years.
