Brent and Erin Weidemann Are Translating Their Values Into Success in Business and Life

The seeds for the stunning success of Brent and Erin Weidemann’s husband-and-wife entrepreneurial team were planted during a trip home from church back in 2011. Newly married, Erin was still teaching and mentoring young girls. There was this overall feeling that there weren’t enough faith-based books on helping young women blossom into womanhood. One day, the Weidemanns stopped at a local bookstore searching for literature that could introduce young girls to inspirational heroines featured in the Bible. Shocked to find that no such books existed, they decided on the spot to do something about it.

Despite having no previous experience in the field, fast forward to 2015, Brent and Erin launched their own publishing company to produce high-value Christian literature for children. Soon after, they published the now best-selling Bible Belles book series, which includes five entries penned by Erin that feature educational and motivational interactions between lead character Rooney Cruz (named after the Weidemann’s first-born daughter, out of the four they now have) and some of the most remarkable and courageous women to appear in Scripture.

In addition to introducing them to book publishing, the Bible Belles series and several related works made the Weidemanns leaders in the young female empowerment movement. Their Christian values allowed them to fill a unique niche, and their efforts to bring the true stories of Biblical heroines to girls in need of inspiring role models were warmly welcomed by parents who shared their concerns and worldview.

From these modest but well-intentioned beginnings, the Weidemanns built an ever-expanding, multi-million-dollar publishing enterprise under the Bible Belles label. They have released 18 books in all, 13 of which were written by Erin, and their total sales have now exceeded the half-million mark. This is an astonishing accomplishment, considering the Weidemanns knew nothing about the modern publishing business before they decided to become involved.

Truth Becomes the Weidemanns

Tremendously gratified by how the Bible Belles series was received, the Weidemanns eventually decided to tackle a new and more ambitious entrepreneurial challenge. In 2019, they launched their innovative Truth Becomes Her mentorship project, which is organized around the theme of intergenerational empowerment for girls and women. The purpose of the Truth Becomes Her initiative is to help mothers and other female caregivers develop more effective strategies for parenting and role modeling so they can teach their daughters or the girls in their care how to recognize their true worth and develop their unlimited capacities for greatness.

Women who join the Truth Becomes Her project gain access to a treasure chest of resources, including videos, podcasts, seminars, and interactive courses, that show them how to mentor girls to assume positions of leadership and responsibility in the future. This initiative is rooted in the eternal truths and timeless values promoted in the Bible, which are exemplified by the women (the Bible Belles) who continue to live by their values and hold onto their faith even during the most difficult times.

“The world is ready to tell our young women that their worth is relative to their popularity, looks, romantic partners, social status, and so on,” Erin says. “But we know the truth. So let’s embrace our responsibility to speak up — together, as a strong collective of women who are dedicated to loving and leading well.”

Young girls who learn to believe in themselves and value themselves for who they truly are will thrive as they develop their skills and abilities. As they grow and mature into adulthood, they will pass on what they’ve learned to their daughters, and then their daughters will pass it on to their daughters, and so on ad infinitum. It is this vision that inspired the Weidemanns to launch this amazing project, which, under Erin’s energetic leadership, will be paying dividends for girls and women far into the future.

Finding Success as a Team and as Individuals

Their success in book publishing and female empowerment ultimately motivated Brent and Erin to pursue related but separate tracks.
