How the Stange Law Firm Went from a Family Business to a Multi-State Family Law Firm

Few law firms have experienced the meteoric rise to national prominence that the Stange Law Firm has lived through since its founding in 2007. Stange Law Firm’s growth had been many years in the making, fueled by the long list of experiences collected by the firm’s founder, Kirk Stange, known for his current role as a speaker, author, and podcaster.

Before developing the skills that led him to founding his own family law firm, Stange came from humble beginnings in Fenton, Missouri. Due to coming from a lower-middle-class family, he learned the necessity of hard work very quickly. Before becoming a founding partner at the Stange Law Firm, his only management role was working as a supervisor at his local Six Flags theme park. However, the life lessons and leadership experience he gained would be valuable more than a decade later when he decided to start his own law firm.

After deciding to pursue a career in the legal field and finishing his legal education, Stange founded the Stange Law Firm in Clayton, Missouri in 2007. At first, his biggest challenge was gaining new clients, but by finding an effective marketing strategy, Stange was able to grow the firm steadily.

As Stange sought to bring new eyes to his legal practice, he quickly learned the importance of online marketing tools such as PPC advertisements on social media and search engines, as well as SEO, or search engine optimization. Stange credits the law firm’s growth to a mixture of high-quality online content, an efficient management system, and a dedication to putting clients first.

Stange’s recognition for his legal work may also have played a part in bringing new eyes to the Stange Law Firm. Since starting the firm, he has been named one of the top family law attorneys in the state of Missouri on several lists of top lawyers, including Super Lawyers for Family Law, Missouri Lawyers Media’s Weekly POWER List, and Lead Counsel Rated for Divorce and Family Law.

Furthermore, Stange has put his expertise in the field to good use by sharing his knowledge with other attorneys by writing a full-length book through Aspatore Publishing titled Prenuptial Agreements Line by Line as a speaker at CLE Seminars sponsored by institutions such as the Missouri Bar, the National Business Institute, myLawCLE, and others. Stange’s work educating other legal professionals culminated in a speaking appearance at the 8th Circuit Judicial Conference in Omaha, Nebraska on the same program as U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Samuel A. Alito, Jr.

Although some growing pains were associated with the speed of the Stange Law Firm’s growth, the organization has since claimed the title of the second-biggest family law firm in the country. It has 24 offices in 6 states spread out across the Midwest and South Central United States, from the firm’s home state of Missouri to the wide open plains of Nebraska. In February of 2024, Stange Law Firm will enter its 7th state when it opens in Des Moines, Iowa. As the firm stands ready to aid clients with legal matters such as paternity, divorce, and child custody, it is eager for future opportunities to grow and extend its reach to more clients across the country.
