Alejandro Glatt: The Artist and Entrepreneur Bringing Art, Technology, and Spirituality Together to Support Female Artists
Alejandro Glatt has a passion that might seem strange to many: fruit. A self-described Tulum-based multidisciplinary artist, he is now bringing his passion to the NFT space to help female artists succeed.
Glatt is the founder behind Crypto Papayas, a social NFT project running on the blockchain network launched back in October of this year. The project consists of a collection of NFTs depicting papayas with various designs and backgrounds, intended to be a “memento mori” that inspires holders to make the world a better place and be true to themselves.
While the concept behind the project’s art is not necessarily different from other NFT collections, the purpose behind it is. Various goals have been established, each of them resulting in different outcomes that include the donation of 10% of the minting fees to support women in the NFT space, the hosting of a “fruit festival” at Art Basel in December 6th exclusive to holders, the creation of DAO that will share royalties with its members, donations to NGOs, social activism, and more.
The mission and model of the project is an extension of the artist behind it, as he believes that the fruit growing process is not only a representation of an abundance cycle in nature but also human life itself. By using ceremonies, meditations, art installations, and more, Glatt achieves a new means to bring the 5 major senses together to reach another level of mindfulness
Several hotels, festivals, and retreats have counted with Glatt’s participation, including the famous “Art with Me” festival, Art Basel, Todo Fresco Y Dulce, Mexico City’s Art Week, Yam Festival, and more. Now, he will be participating in “The Business of Art and NFTs”, a collaboration between Grit Daily and TokenSociety taking place in Miami on December 2nd and 3rd.
With the younger generations finding it harder to find their place in the world, Glatt has proven to be a popular guru by expanding his “Fell the fruit movement “ around the world to help millions feel grounded and inspired. His incursion in the NFT ecosystem will play an integral role in helping his movement fulfill its purpose, all while boosting innovation and giving a platform to female artists in the process.
