CometChat, a Denver-based Communication Platform as a Service (CPaaS) startup, has raised $10 million in Series A funding to allow developers to easily integrate video, voice, and text chat into their applications.
The round was led by Signal Peak Ventures, with participation from existing investors like Matchstick Ventures, Range Ventures, and Unbound VC. CometChat has now raised a total of $12.6 million in funding that will help it boost its growth and expansion efforts. McKay Dunn, Signal Peak Ventures, referred to the firm’s participation in the round by stating:
“I’m incredibly excited to partner with the CometChat team as they reimagine the way developers implement chat across websites and apps. When I first met Anuj and Anant a few years ago I immediately knew that they were people that I wanted to work with. I was impressed by their extremely complementary skillsets and by the unique way they were pursuing a developer-first approach to chat. They have since been able to build out a world-class team and I couldn’t be happier to be a part of the CometChat journey.”
Founded in 2019 by Anuj Garg and Anant Garg with the mission to improve brands’ user engagement, Cometchat has now been used by over 50k developers around the globe. The startup offers a platform with a plug-and-play interface that makes it extremely easy for developers to integrate its comprehensive messaging and communication platform. Anuj Garg, CometChat CEO, said about how the round will help the startup achieve this mission:
“We are thrilled to add SPV as an investor and partner as we look to scale our platform offering and expand our growing customer base. This is an important milestone that we wouldn’t have reached without the hard work and dedication of an incredible team. We look forward to further investing in our customers’ success.”
As businesses around the globe continue to transition toward a digital business model, improving communication between brands and their customers has become increasingly important. Cometchat believes that by offering a scalable, secure, and easy-to-use platform that can be easily integrated, it can help the digital revolution become more social in nature.
