Edtech platform Saasguru raises $1.3 million in seed round

A Sydney edtech startup helping people unlock the power of cloud software has raised $1.3 million in a seed round.

The raise for Saasguru was led by Sydney VC Square Peg, with support from Black Nova and comes just six months after the venture was formed .

Co-founders Amit Choudhary and Atif Saad developed their platform to benchmark a cloud professional’s readiness for a certification exam alongside tailored learning experiences.

Choudhary, said Saasguru solves a growing problem for enterprises and cloud professionals by simplifying the certification preparation process through

“Enterprises must adopt best-in-class cloud software to remain competitive, but training employees  to use cloud software is a challenging and time-consuming process,” he said.

“Most enterprises rely on certifications to demonstrate that their teams of cloud professionals have a comprehensive understanding of enterprise software, but cloud professionals are often left to  scour the internet for advice in advance of their certification exam. Our mission is to help all enterprises and cloud professionals get certified on cloud software in  record time and on the first go.”

Saasguru automatically designs a personalised learning pathway for them from micro-learning modules, to insights, suggestions, and gamified learning, as well as offering access to a community of software experts or  “gurus” for 1-1 mentoring.

“The platform complements the high-quality learning content created by the likes of Salesforce with a personalised pathway to bridge the gap between learning and certification,” Choudhary said.

“The Saasguru community enables true peer-peer learning, which has proven invaluable for learners  attempting to grasp new concepts at rapid rates.”

Square Peg Principal, Lucy Tan, said they love the pay-it-forward mentality that the Saasguru community stands for with highly certified  “gurus” helping to teach the next generation of cloud professionals.

“The community’s growth in the first six months has been impressive, and the team are working fast  to expand the platform’s offerings so that they can offer certification preparation for all major cloud  software,” she said.

Saasguru will use the investment to expand its platform of cloud-certification preparation courses to  all major Salesforce certifications and other large cloud vendors such as ServiceNow, AWS, Azure, UI  Path, and Automation Anywhere.
