Phil Duffy, chief product officer at Embodied, will give a keynote presentation at the Healthcare Robotics Engineering Forum. The event, designed to support those delivering the next generation of healthcare robotics solutions, will take place on May 10-11 in Boston at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.
During his keynote, titled “Developing Robots that can Promote Social-Emotional Learning in Children,” Duffy will describe the evolving relationship between humans and machines, and how robots and robotic technology can be applied for social good. Duffy will also dive into the development of Moxie, Embodied’s companion robot to help children learn social, emotional and cognitive skills through play-based learning and content. The keynote will take place on May 10 from 8:45 AM to 9:30 AM.
Duffy will also discuss how Embodied utilized machine learning to help the Moxie Platform perceive, process and respond to natural conversation, eye contact and facial expressions. Moxie is even able to recognize and recall people, places and things. The keynote will show how sensory input can be used to help children learn and safely practice life skills like turn taking, eye contact, emotion regulation, relationship management and problem solving.
