Entries for the Startup Daily Best in Tech Awards are open

Startup Daily has launched the inaugural 2023 Startup Daily Best in Tech Awards, a flagship celebration of Australia’s tech startup and scale-up community to recognise the best and brightest people and ideas in the Australian tech ecosystem, with entries across 10 categories opening today.

Startup Daily has been Australia’s leading digital publisher of startup news, insights and stories for 11 years, also launching the Startup Daily show on ausbiz in 2020.

More than one 1.2 million people turn to the StartupDaily.net site every year for the latest news on the ANZ tech ecosystem.

The awards will recognise people and startups in areas such as sustainability, technical expertise, innovation, culture, and diversity and inclusion.

“The growth of the local startup sector in recent years has been one of the most exciting business stories in Australia,” Startup Daily editor Simon Thomsen said.

“The innovation and transformation to a smarter, digital nation is clear in the numbers. Companies such as Canva, Airwallex, Go1 and Culture Amp have reached valuations of more than $1 billion in a matter of years, as investors pour several billion dollars into these world-changing ideas, and nearly 1 million Australians work in tech.

“That said, the last few years have been turbulent for the startup sector, so the opportunity to shine a light on the entrepreneurs and companies changing the world for the better with the Startup Daily Awards is something we’re pleased to do.”

Thomsen said they’re thrilled to have the support of AWS for Startups as the major partner for the awards, with Dell Technologies’ Dell for Startups program and AgriFutures Australia as supporting partners, as well as award sponsors 1835i, Tank Stream Labs and Techstars.

At a time when founders are facing new challenges in a shifting economic landscape, Startup Daily will celebrate the achievements of those working on the front line of tech with seven business awards and three awards for individuals.

Nominations for the 2023 Startup Daily Best in Tech Awards are now open and close at midnight on Sunday, July 16.

Finalists in each category will be announced on startupdaily.net on August 7. Nominees will be invited to attend the 2023 Startup Daily Best in Tech Awards gala event at The Establishment Ballroom in Sydney on Wednesday, September 6.
