WTWH Media, an award-winning, digital-first B2B information provider, announced that Eugene Demaitre has been named editorial director of robotics. He has been covering the global robotics industry for nearly a decade.
Demaitre will play a crucial role in the development of WTWH’s portfolio of robotics media brands, which include The Robot Report, Mobile Robot Guide, Robotics Business Review, Collaborative Robotics Trends and Automated Warehouse.
He will also be key to organizing the Robotics Summit & Expo and RoboBusiness, two leading events for commercial robotics developers. The Robotics Summit takes place May 1-2, 2024 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, while RoboBusiness returns to Santa Clara, Calif., on October 16-17, 2024.
“I am thrilled to welcome back Gene to our team as the new editorial director of robotics,” said Steve Crowe, executive editor, robotics, WTWH Media and chair of the Robotics Summit and RoboBusiness. “With his expertise and passion for the field, I can’t wait to see the deepened coverage, perspectives and exciting content he’ll bring to our team.”
Demaitre re-joins WTWH’s robotics group after serving as its senior editor from January 2019 to December 2020. He previously served as senior editor of Robotics Business Review from March 2015 to January 2019 and co-chair of RoboBusiness from 2017 to 2018.
He has also worked as editor at Bloomberg BNA (then known as The Bureau of National Affairs), IDG/Computerworld, TechTarget, and most recently Robotics 24/7, where he spent three years leading its editorial coverage.
“I’m excited to continue covering emerging technologies and business use cases, as well as collaborating with the strong team at WTWH Media,” said Demaitre. “I look forward to discussing robotics with innovators and industry leaders and sharing what we learn with our growing audience.”
Demaitre has a master’s in international affairs from George Washington University, where one of his areas of focus was science and technology policy. He lives in the Boston area and is a longtime speculative fiction fan.
