FlexQube said it has successfully secured its first order for the patented FlexQube Navigator autonomous mobile robot, or AMR, in the Nordic market. The client is a multinational manufacturer of commercial vehicles, and the order value is around half a million U.S. dollars.

Gothenburg, Sweden-based FlexQube said it anticipates to complete delivery to its client, also in Sweden, within the second quarter of 2024.

“It is fantastic to see the first order for our new AMR system in the Nordic market to one of the … leaders within the commercial vehicles market,” said Mårten Frostne, CEO of FlexQube, in a release. “We look forward to delivering a great solution and to continue growing alongside them in the future.”

The company also provides industrial carts, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), and parts. It said its modular systems are designed to improve intralogistics, enabling businesses to implement Industry 4.0 strategies.

FlexQube said its carts are deployed for inventory management, work in process, finished goods, and as flow carts in manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution facilities around the world. The company claimed that its AMR is a “one-robot, multi-carrier” concept that combines its recently patented technology with lessons learned from its partnerships.

“The non-load-carrying AMR, with the ability to navigate motorized load carriers with different size and shape, will replace existing forklifts and automate the transport of various parts to the assembly line, resulting in improved safety, flexibility, and efficiency,” added Frostne. “This confirms the value our unique AMR-system creates in material handling processes.”

The company has operations in the U.S., Mexico, Germany, and England.

The global market for automated guided carts in warehouses could expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.12% from $89.76 million in 2022, according to Aritzon. It cited Industry 4.0 initiatives, demand for materials handling in e-commerce and manufacturing, and growth in the Asia-Pacific region.
