Former Google Cloud product lead Amir Hermelin joins FICO as CTO

Data analytics fintech FICO has hired ex-Google Cloud product lead Amir Hermelin as its new chief technology officer (CTO).

Hermelin says he is joining FICO at a “pivotal stage”

Hermelin will also assume the role of vice president and will lead the firm’s software engineering and product development efforts.

The Silicon Valley software company says Hermelin will being a “wealth of platform engineering and development expertise to FICO”.

Hermelin most recently served at fintech firm SoFi as vice president of product engineering and data.

There, his team worked on an integrated consumer-facing financial services platform and collaborated on an independent platform designed for other fintechs to deliver financial services.

Prior to SoFi, Hermelin spent almost seven years at Google, where he helped set up the Google Cloud team and was in charge of planning and executing the tech giant’s platform strategy.

Hermelin says he is joining FICO at a “pivotal stage” as the company looks to build out a “comprehensive platform that gives firms true customer-centricity”.
