From Vietnam Refugee to Top-Rated Real Estate Agent in Houston, Lily Jang Details Her Success

In a world where millions of people come from areas across the country seeking refuge in the United States, Lily Jang and her family were amongst those people on a quest to live a better life. The family would eventually move from Vietnam to America to put their best effort into living better. It’s one of many reasons Lily has worked so hard to get to where she is today. Having always yearned for that sense of stability and security in life, she knew the importance of hard work and stayed consistent to accomplish significant goals. Her dedication and commitment enabled her to spend two decades working as a broadcast journalist, with her most recent position as a Morning News Anchor for KHOU-TV in Houston. However, she has since dabbled in the world of real estate and now looks forward to helping people find the home of their dreams.

When asked about her success, Lily Jang says, “Coming to the United States from Vietnam, I had to learn to adapt to this new way of life, but I was okay with that. I’ve always loved journalism, so I spent a lot of time working in the industry, even documenting the story of my American Dream and how I’ve managed to make great strides in my life. Although journalism is my first love, I’ve since found a new passion – real estate. I love everything about helping people buy their dream home or sell their property with the least amount of stress possible.”

Despite spending 21+ years telling other people’s stories through her job as a journalist, Lily Jang now looks forward to helping people add something incredible to their own stories. Knowing that buying a home is a monumental moment in most people’s lives, she loves knowing she can be there to experience the beauty of it all.

“I genuinely believe that buying a home is one of the most significant decisions anyone will ever make in life. It’s naturally a big deal, and I want to be the one to help people decide to invest in a place they can call their own. Whether they’re looking for something cozy and comfortable or large enough for their extended family to visit, I can help,” shared Lily. “When people ask me how I’ve managed to have such incredible success over the years in journalism and real estate, I like to say it’s because I’m a people person. I enjoy spending time with people, listening to them, and assisting them in any way possible. It’s what has helped me excel in each line of work.”

Lily Jang proves it’s not too late to make a career switch when choosing to do something that brings you joy. Despite loving journalism, she couldn’t help but want to dive into the world of real estate, quickly falling in love with everything about it and looking forward to helping her clients with their needs. As she continues to assist people with finding hidden gems throughout Houston, a place she’s called home for many years and knows quite well, Lily looks forward to meeting new people and working with new faces while she lives her real-life version of the American Dream.
