Garanti BBVA International (GBI) is extending its long-standing partnership with Temenos. GBI is moving to the cloud and will deploy the vendor’s Temenos Banking Cloud solution to power its retail and corporate banking services in the Netherlands and Germany.
GBI claims that the upgrade is “crucial” to the bank’s digital transformation, and that it will improve its operations and lower costs.
The firm serves retail, corporate and institutional clients and offers financial solutions in trade and commodity finance, corporate banking, cash management and global markets sales. It has previously utilised Temenos’ core banking software for its operations in the Netherlands, Germany and Romania.
“On Temenos Banking Cloud, we can connect to the financial ecosystem and bring new products to market at a lower cost to build a sustainable business and with the flexibility to adapt to new opportunities,” says Marco Witteveen, COO/CIO of GBI.
Temenos offers cloud-based and AI-driven front office, core banking, payments and fund administration software.
The company claims its software is used by more than 3,000 banks across the globe, processing daily transactions and interactions of more than 1.2 billion banking customers.
