Golf startup Zonely launches its first event to make golf fun, accessible, and social for all

Professional Golfers Association (PGA) champion Kel Nagle’s granddaughter, Alicia Nagle, launched her startup, Zonely, to make golf fun, accessible, and social for all players.

Founder Nagle said that with Zonely, she wants to change golf’s poor brand image for golfers and people who’d like to try and become golfers.

Zonely is a golf community with a difference. It is built on inclusion, kindness, and respect and allows all golfers, from beginners to experts, to have fun, get active, socialise, and meet new people.

And now the golf community startup’s first event is being held in Sydney this weekend, March 11, from 2:30 pm, at Long Reef Golf Club in Collaroy, with tickets on sale.

“Tomorrow is the first Zonely golf event of many! It is being held on the beautiful Northern Beaches of Sydney. We have a variety of golfers joining across a range of abilities, ages and genders which is exactly what Zonely is all about; welcoming everyone into the wonderful inclusive golf community called Zonely! Zonely means to find your zone, your people, your community and have fun,” Nagle said.

“Zonely is a marketplace for connecting with active mates, not boring dates!”

Nagle received a scholarship from the Australian Sports Commission through their Women Leaders In Sport initiative.

“The course was incredibly valuable! I am extremely grateful to the ASC for offering this type of program and funding and really making a difference for development of females leaders in sport,” she said.

The first phase of the Zonely vision is to connect like-minded golfers to each other and to find available times at golfing venues.

Not only will this help build community connection and activity, but it will also help to optimise golf inventory at venues such as golf courses and driving ranges.

With so many people having turned to golf as a hobby during the pandemic, Zonely will  help players get the most out of the money, time, and equipment they’ve invested by offering a platform to connect, pay and play.
