Gorillas Technologies Hires Former Biden Campaign Advisor to Lead Public Affairs

New York – Gorillas Technologies has announced the appointment of Alex Gabriel as the Senior Manager for US Public Affairs. Gabriel is responsible for managing all external public affairs conversations both with the community and with legislative bodies, as well as working with Gorillas internally to ensure business goals and campaigns are aligned.

Gorillas is dedicated to supporting and providing opportunity to the communities it serves and the workers it employs. This includes working with and featuring local and minority owned businesses, and providing full-time employment opportunities and benefits to workers. As the grocery delivery industry continues to evolve, Gorillas is committed to growing with it and being an example of how to integrate their business into community landscapes and expand opportunity for their workforce. In Gabriel’s new role, he will lead these industry conversations with government and local leaders to ensure Gorillas continues to meet their needs and drive the rapid grocery delivery space forward.

Gabriel brings years of experience to Gorillas, most recently, he was the Political Manager for the DC-Based PAC, Victory Fund. Previously, Gabriel served as the Senior Advisor of LGBTQ+ and Youth Voter Engagement for Joe Biden’s presidential campaign and chaired the Out for Biden coalition, ensuring historic voter turnout for the most pro-equality ticket in American history. Having been an original hire on the Rework America Task Force and early hire on Airbnb’s political team, Gabriel helped to chart the path for innovative tech companies to thrive despite varied political environments. He also served as the Deputy Senior Advisor to the Mayor for Stonewall 50 (otherwise known as World Pride), the largest event in New York history.

“Gorillas is disrupting the rapid grocery delivery space with unparalleled dedication to its riders and to the communities it serves. I was immediately drawn to the company’s strong values and mission-oriented culture,” says Gabriel. “I am thrilled to bring my experience to the Gorillas team as we partner with neighbors, community leaders, local businesses, and governments to deliver exceptional value and convenience to our customers.”

“Gorillas has seen tremendous growth and success since we entered the US market last year and based on the trajectory of rapid grocery delivery, we expect to see continued expansion and industry advancement opportunities,” says Adam Wacenske, US Head of Operations for Gorillas. “With that growth, we’re thrilled to continue to work with local stakeholders and partner with our community. We could not be more excited to have Alex lead these efforts.”

Gorillas plans to continue growing its US operations in the future and looks forward to bringing fast grocery delivery to more local communities.
