If you’re looking for a real estate agent in Kansas to help you navigate the property market, you’ve probably realized buying and selling isn’t as straightforward as placing a sign in the yard or just showing a home.
Likewise, if you’re a Kansas real estate agent looking to progress your career in a healthy, sustainable, and prosperous way, you may feel short of options. But Laura Ebert, the CEO of TrustedHomeTeamKS and an Associate Broker with Real Broker LLC, believes another way is possible.
Her perspective on real estate is enlightened, hopeful, empathetic, and aspirational. In her mind, the difficulties and pressures of buying or selling your home or developing your profession are hurdles to a better future for everyone. Real estate can be an easy process and not stressful if you work with the right people.
“I understand the fears and hesitations that clients feel, putting their faith in a Kansas real estate agent to help them with the market and the biggest investment most people will ever make.,” Laura says. “I have been through so many different types of deals, and I am well versed on the good and the bad.”
The solution she arrived at is that by working together, not against each other, everyone can feel at ease and secure the best possible outcome. With over 25 years of experience in different areas of Real Estate, the TrustedHomeTeamKS leader shares a tantalizing vision that aspiring property owners, sellers, and agents can’t afford to miss out on:
A philanthropic philosophy
Laura Ebert believes real estate is her calling, and it’s easy to see why. The sense of service, contributing to the community, and using expertise to solve problems aligns with her core values.
On the professional side, Laura began developing and managing property over 12 years ago. She helped in her husband’s businesses of remodels, flips, new and spec homes on managing the business while staying home for 14 years while she raised four children in five years, since 2000. She got her Real Estate license in 2014, got her Broker License in 2017. These three experiences shaped her current real estate philosophy, as she understands the value and emotional significance of experiencing life in a home you love and is functional for you while within your budget.
At Real Broker LLC, Laura now focuses on tangible techniques to help her clients realize their dreams of home ownership. Her ‘gut number’ system assesses a property according to key factors, such as location, condition, price, and the buyer’s desires. Only potential homes between a seven and nine rating cut, and establishing what could improve a property’s rating allows Laura to narrow her search on and off the market. The number goes from 1 to 10, but Laura will say, “I haven’t gotten a 10 as a gut number, because no house is perfect. If the number is 6 or below, then clients will usually end up having buyer’s remorse and I am client-centric. If they ever consider selling their home, I want to be the agent of choice because they trust me.”
The process works in reverse for sellers. With a knack for staging and the resources to back it up, the TrustedHomeTeamKS CEO consults with clients to improve the likes of flooring, decor, and lighting so their home becomes picture-perfect for professional photos and shows in the best light for getting it sold for a price and terms that are acceptable to the Sellers.”
A collaborative culture
People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. And if there’s one word to sum up Laura Ebert’s priorities, it’s ‘people.’ Whether her clients, between clients and their agents, or agents and their counterparts, she believes fostering positive relationships is integral to everyone’s success.
“I look at other real estate agents as colleagues, as we are all on the same team trying to get homes either sold or bought,” Laura says. “We should be honest and negotiate for our clients, but not to be hurtful. I give advice based on both sides’ viewpoints, then let the clients make the decision on how best to move forward even if it isn’t moving forward. I have always felt like a real estate transaction can and should be a win-win.”
Expanding that collaborative spirit to more professionals is a priority for Laura. She wants to replicate Real Broker LLC’s transformative effect with other experienced agents looking for a change.
“Looking ahead, my passion lies in helping more agents succeed and reclaim their work-life balance,” she shares. “I am dedicated to sharing my knowledge and expertise to help other agents in this industry make more money and get time back to spend with family and friends.”
Since joining Real Broker, Laura has been featured on the ‘Spill Some Tea’ podcast with her broker, Jana Jeffrey, and received $16,000 in stock from Real Broker when she hit Elite status in her first year at Real Broker LLC. The company also hosts masterminds and encourages sharing work to support one another.
Counsel for clients
Real estate transactions don’t exist in isolation; a significant life change is almost always behind a purchase or sale. Laura Ebert believes real estate can be a positive step forward instead of another burden. Her ultimate goal echoes her original career motivation: to make life easier and to do what is in the best interest of her client.
“I love helping clients not only through the joys of home ownership but with those reasons that are not so great,” Laura illustrates. “I have helped 11 widows and widowers sell homes in the past three years and those going through divorces. I try to ease their pain by keeping the transaction as simple and as straightforward as possible. My clients can expect a professional when they call me in the hard times as well as the good times.”
Being a trusted partner is fundamental to Laura’s conception of her role. Her advice doesn’t prejudice one outcome or another; it’s just another tool to help people reach their next destination. Sometimes, the best advice to give is that it is not the right time to sell or buy right now. She is in it for the long haul. She is here for her clients long before and after the sale of their homes. Laura is very “hands-on” and loves it when someone calls to ask her what they should do to improve their home’s value, have lunch, share her post on social media, or just text her. She stays in the flow with her clients as most of them become trusted friends.
“If a client likes another agent or is a better fit for them, I encourage it,” she states. “I would go for an agent who has integrity, is trustworthy, and honest. Someone who stays in touch tries their hardest, gets information when you need it, and goes above and beyond with their service. Interview agents and see who is the right fit.”
For Laura, finding the best real estate agent in Kansas for you is the key that unlocks the rest of her advice. For buyers, she recommends getting pre-approval before searching for properties, primarily so agents can show you more suitable homes and make sure you can make an offer on that property. Knowing the numbers and asking the right questions are equally crucial for Sellers. How much is left on your mortgage? What date do you need it sold by? Do you have other living arrangements so you don’t end up homeless? Is it more important to have the right price or the right timing? These answers help professionals determine the most efficient route to reach your goals.
Laura Ebert aims to be a solution provider in a real estate space that often elicits more questions than answers. At Real Broker LLC, she’s welcoming a new wave of agents to her mutually beneficial way of thinking while leading TrustedHomeTeamKS to provide valuable help to anyone who needs it.
