Hy-Tek Holdings, a material handling automation integrator, acquired Advanced Handling Systems (AHS). The two companies will operate under the name Hy-Tek Material Handlings. The details of the deal were not disclosed.

AHS is also a material handling automation integrator. The company has a six step process it uses as part of its DesignBuild approach to meet customers’ specific automation needs. It specializes in automating eCommerce, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, retail, food and beverage and wholesale operations.

“Hy-Tek’s acquisition of AHS broadens our offerings as the predominant player in material handling and integrated systems. With AHS robotic solutions, Hy-Tek delivers cutting-edge technology that optimizes fulfillment, speeds distribution, and addresses labor shortages within a challenging supply chain. Committed to growth through acquisitions, Hy-Tek always is looking for best-of-breed companies to join our team,” Sam Grooms, CEO of Hy-Tek Holdings, said.

In September 2021, AHS partnered with Berkshire Grey to help companies grow despite labor shortages and logistic challenges. Berkshire Grey provides AI-powered robotic picking and mobile robots for fulfillment centers.

Prior to the partnership, AHS specialized in traditional material handling solutions. The company’s partnership with Berkshire Grey allowed it to evolve its innovation portfolio to include more robotic solutions.
