Administrative Resource Options Inc., or ARO, today unveiled a new subsidiary called Roboworx dedicated to robot service and customer satisfaction. Schaumburg, Ill.-based ARO said the brand will address the growing need to support the robotics industry.

ARO has offered robotics as a service (RaaS) to help young robotics companies without a large customer base build field service and support teams. As robots enter multiple industries, ARO said its business model fulfills the demand for specialized maintenance and support.

At the same time, the company uses personnel who can support multiple systems and represent multiple companies in the field, while still meeting end-user service-level agreements (SLAs). ARO serves customers across several markets, including OEMs and copiers.

Last year, ARO partnered with CleanRobotics to provide support to the TrashBot Zero, a system that sorts waste items for recycling at the point of disposal. It also launched a subscription model with H3 Dynamics for DBX “drone-in-a-box” and software services.

ARO added that Roboworx — not to be confused with Australian mobile robot integrator Roboworks, Boston-based robotic snowplow vendor RoboWorx, or India-based business process automation provider eClerx Roboworx — is a new service organization 100% focused on robotics.

Roboworx offers end-to-end services

Roboworx promised “reliability, innovation, and customer success.” The new unit offers services including preventative maintenance, break/fix support, installation and commissioning.

Hiring, training, and deploying field-service agents can be a challenge for robotics startups moving to commercialization, said the company. Roboworx said its staff of highly trained technicians and customer-success agents draw on ARO’s experience in customer support.

Roboworx added that its scheduling and quality-assurance workflows will enable it to satisfy SLAs. Roboworx will support many different types of robots, such as those used in manufacturing, logistics, hospitality, restaurants, and cleaning, as well as drones.

ARO looks to the future of robot field service

“Roboworx is more than a brand; it’s a visionary step towards the future of robotic maintenance and success,” asserted ARO. The company said it plans to expand its services globally and to continue innovating and providing customized support.

“Over the past couple of years, we have built a very successful business supporting robot manufacturers here in the U.S. by providing installation, maintenance, customer success, and operations support,” said Dale Walsh, director of robotics and innovation at ARO.

“It is now time to take that successful business model to the next level and transition from the robot division of ARO to a new subsidiary brand, Roboworx,” he told The Robot Report. “We feel this change will demonstrate to the robotic community our focus to the community and provide clarity around the services we are providing to the robotic community to help them scale across the U.S.”

ARO’s team will be at CES 2024, which will be in Las Vegas from Jan. 9 through 12.
