Mitra Chem, a startup utilizing machine learning to accelerate the commercialization of next-generation iron-based cathode materials, recently won the Startup World Cup (SWC) Silicon Valley regional competition. A panel of independent venture capital investors judged the pitches of the finalists and ultimately awarded Mitra Chem as the winner. The company will compete with other finalists at the SWC Grand Finale on Dec. 1, 2023 in San Francisco, California.
Innovative startups from across Silicon Valley competed at this prestigious championship. The event, part of a global network of 50+ regional competitions, is organized by Pegasus Tech Ventures, a Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm. SWC is one of the largest and richest startup competitions in the world. Pegasus Tech Ventures has over US$2 billion in assets under management and the firm offers intellectual and financial capital to emerging technology companies. Pegasus offers a unique Venture Capital-as-a-Service model for large, global corporations that wish to partner with cutting-edge technology startups.

Confirmed speakers at the Grand Finale include Barbara Corcoran of ABC’s Shark Tank, Vinod Khosla of Khosla Ventures, Tekedra Mawakana of Waymo, Christoph Schell of Intel, Sundeep Jain of Uber, and Daniel Sturman of Roblox. Tickets are going fast for the event, which is expected to attract over 2,500 startups, corporate executives, investors, and members of the press.
