Submissions are open for our 2022 Pitchfire startup competition at the RoboBusiness Conference & Expo, to be held October 19-20, 2022 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.

For seven years, Pitchfire has been a must-attend event where robotics startups compete for a $5,000 first-place prize at RoboBusiness. Pitchfire will be covered by The Robot ReportRobotics Business Review and Mobile Robot Guide, as well as other media publications.

Startups participating in Pitchfire will gain priceless experience by giving presentations in front of the RoboBusiness conference’s entire audience, receiving feedback from investors and advisors in the field, networking with thought leaders, receiving free passes to the RoboBusiness Conference & Expo, and more.

During Pitchfire, five startups will deliver a 5-minute ‘pitch’ to a panel of judges – along with RoboBusiness attendees – describing their company’s solution, business model, value proposition and more. After all contestants have pitched, the judges will compare notes, come to a consensus and announce two runners-up and a winner based on who they believe to be best primed for commercial success.

Pitchfire takes place on October 19 following the last sessions of the day. Host Andra Keay, Managing Director of Silicon Valley Robotics, is sure to keep things moving and lively. Fast-paced, dynamic and fun, the event is a perennial favorite among RoboBusiness attendees.

To be eligible for Pitchfire 2022, robotics startups must meet the following criteria:

  • The company is working towards developing, deploying, and commercializing new robotics technologies, products, processes, or services.
  • Less than 5 years old
  • Greater than 50% of the company’s business activities are attributable to producing robots or robotics enabling technologies, or providing services to robotics developers or end-users of robotics solutions
  • Fewer than 30 employees
  • Unfunded or has received Seed funding
