Rhombus Systems Raises $10 mln To Modernize Video Security

Rhombus Systems, a security startup based in Sacramento, has raised $10 million in Series A funding to change how enterprises deploy video security.

The funding round was led by Cota Capitals with participation from existing investors like MSD Partners, Lemnos Labs, and Promus Ventures. The round brings the total funding raised by Rhombus Systems to $20 million. Bobby Yazdani, Founder and Partner of Cota Capital, referred to the round by stating:

“We are excited to partner with Rhombus, who has developed an innovative cloud managed platform that leverages AI powered security cameras and smart sensors to gain critical insights into physical spaces. We look forward to working with the talented Rhombus team as we believe in the company’s vision and expertise to address the physical security challenges today’s modern organizations face.”

Rhombus Systems was founded with the mission to provide smart security solutions powered by cloud computing, allowing enterprises to improve the security of their workspaces. The startup is already providing its hardware to more than 10,000 locations around the world, making the installation and management of the systems a breeze. Mark Zikra, Senior Vice President of Technology and Innovation at CA Ventures, said about the startup’s technology:

“At CA, we have deployed over 700 Rhombus cameras with another 500 in the immediate pipeline. The experience has been instrumental in helping us protect our assets globally. We can distribute cameras quickly, integrate with our broader tech stack, manage our security remotely, and receive alerts when things need our attention. Rhombus has transformed how we protect our environment and gave us the peace of mind we wanted from a smart security camera solution.”

With IoT devices becoming increasingly accessible, the future of security is no longer limited to video surveillance. The capital injection will allow Rhombus Systems to cement its leadership in the industry by investing heavily in R&D while continuing to provide top-notch security to its users by harvesting the benefits of its ai-powered alert system.
