Santa Barbara Cybersecurity Startups Raise Millions

This week in “Raises,” a pair of Santa Barbara cybersecurity startups raised sizable Series B rounds, while a Beverly Hills online learning platform hauled nearly $30 million (and rolled out a name change, to boot).


Venture Capital

Theta Lake, a Santa Barbara-based cybersecurity startup, raised $50 million in Series B funding led by Battery Ventures.

MixMode, a Santa Barbara-based cybersecurity startup, raised $45 million in Series B funding led by growth equity firm PSG.

Subject, a Beverly Hills-based video learning platform, raised $29.4 million in Series A funding led by Owl Ventures.

Gamefam, a Los Angeles-based Roblox game developer, raised $25 million in Series A funding led by Konvoy Ventures.

PreludeDx, a Laguna Hills-based breast cancer diagnostics startup, raised $20 million in funding led by Evidity Health Capital.

Mathison, an L.A.-based HR platform for diversity hiring and retention, raised $14.6 million in funding, per an SEC filing.

Curious Cardinals, an L.A.-based edtech startup, raised $2.6 million in funding, per an SEC filing.

Message Party, an Encino-based Web3 messaging startup, raised $1.5 million in funding, per an SEC filing.

Botcopy, a Santa Monica-based conversational AI chat platform for businesses, raised $1.5 million in late seed funding led by Little Bug Ventures.

Workorder, a Santa Monica-based construction estimating software platform, raised $1.1 million in pre-seed funding from UBMB and Mucker Capital.

Funds

Blizzard 22, an investment fund created by Santa Monica-based venture capital firm Upfront Ventures, raised $5 million, according to an SEC filing.
