Welcome back to Show and Tell, where I unbox sweet tech for every area of your life. Were you upset when some some of your favorite bars shut down? It was a booming business: The New York Times reported that Baltimore’s Papi’s Tacos surpassed pre-pandemic sales levels thanks to their to-go margaritas. Many people will miss drinking premium mixed drinks without doing all of the work or leaving home. What if you could be an at-home bartender as easy as making coffee with a Keurig? The Bartesian Premium Cocktail Machine might solve that problem. Salib discovered the Bartesian at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2021, where it won an innovation award. But the real win might have been landing Oprah’s Favorite List in 2019.
The Bartesian automated cocktail machine
The Bartesian comes with a menu that includes the full range of classic cocktails, including cosmopolitans, margaritas, uptown rocks, whisky sours, and sazeracs, which aren’t always easy alcoholic drinks to make at home. But the pod-style cocktail machine eliminates the need for mixing the expensive ingredients yourself (as well as the cost of ordering out). And the pods come in a simple booklet style so you can see all of your choices. So, what liquor goes in the Bartesian? The set-up has five canisters that you can fill with vodka, tequila, gin, whiskey or rum that you place onto the machine.
As simple as the push of a button
The Bartesian isn’t another smart device to control from your phone: The set-up is as simple as possible. Besides the alcohol, all of the ingredients are in the pod. The machine reads the pod’s barcode to know which drink to mix. Then, push a button, get the drink, shake it up bartender-style, and say, “Cheers.” Check out the video to see Julia Sun and me make an uptown rocks cocktail!
You can find the Bartesian Premium Cocktail Machine on its website. Or you can shop at Best Buy, Amazon, Costco and other retailers. Cheers!
I will be back soon to unbox more tech, but until then, check out previous videos here.
