Tech focused co-working space, Tank Stream Labs, has opened its third Sydney site, a new hub for scale-up companies in the Tech Central precinct in Haymarket.
The Scale-up hub has officially kicked off with 4,000 sqm of office space, with up to 7,000 sqm coming online by the end of the year. The hub is located in Haymarket and is the fourth co-working hub for TSL, which now has three spaces in Sydney and one in Perth.
Tank Stream Labs CEO Brad Delamare said demand for space in the new hub – the size of 16 Olympic swimming pools – is already so strong that’s why they’re not looking at expanding before Christmas.
“We’re delighted to be the first scale-up hub open and operational for business in Sydney’s Tech Central precinct,” he said.
“This is our first new hub since Covid-19 hit, and we’re anticipating rapid growth in demand this year due to the number of companies planning to continue flexible working arrangements they implemented during the pandemic. We’re aiming to double our capacity in the next 12 months on top of offering new business services.
“The scale up hub already has a number of well-known Australian scale-up companies moved in and more signed up to move in and we’re filling up fast. It’s been a tough couple of years but 2022 is our 10-year anniversary and the future’s looking bright.”
Tank Stream Labs, which launched in 2012, now has more than 200 tech companies in its current network, and expanded its footprint at the Sydney Startup Hub at Wynyard by taking over the former premises of The Studio co-working hub in March. Leading accelerator and investment program Antler Australia is among its residents at Wynyard.
The organisation’s alumni include Airtasker, Expert360, LawPath, Survey Monkey and Braintree.
The new Tank Stream Labs Scale-up hub is at 24 Campbell Street, Haymarket.
