Arizona’s Aurora Payments has acquired fellow paytech firm One Payment for an undisclosed sum.
With more than $1 billion worth of payments volume processed annually, Florida-based One Payment adds “immediate scale” to Aurora’s platform, the company says, thanks to its strong presence on the East Coast of the US.
Aurora CEO Brian Goudie says One Payment “adds significant value to Aurora with its roots on the East Coast and accelerates our diversified go-to-market strategy”.
Co-founded by Luis Requejo and Jorge Calzadilla, One Payment boasts more than 6,000 merchants in its portfolio and places a particular emphasis on minority-owned small and medium sized businesses (SMBs).
The company specialises in payment technology and processing for restaurants, retailers and the wider service industry. The deal with Aurora will enable the paytech to expand its footprint by leveraging Aurora’s full-service payment ecosystem and proprietary technology.
Co-founder Requejo says the deal will help “propel One Payment through the next stage of our company’s growth”.
