In 2022, entrepreneurship is reaching record levels. Social media platforms and help connect with a wide audience have given rise to the ability to garner an audience. Also, it helps build brand loyalty with a strong personal connection. Let’s examine the use of live video in this process below. 

The Pandemic Increased Use of Video

Much of this can be attributed particularly since the onset of the COVID pandemic in 2020. Prior to the pandemic, this kind of video use was obviously in use. It was still a secondary avenue for connection with physical connections in geographical locations still reigning supreme. 

When the pandemic broke out, it caused a sudden shift in our interactive behavior. This turned the vast majority of us into remote workers, driving us into our homes. It caused social interactions, entertainment, gaming, marketing, business interactions, and more to be driven by live streaming. 

In many cases, this is exactly what we’d been wanting for a long time. Working remotely was a slowly growing trend, but for many it was still a pipe dream until the pandemic. However, in our third year since the outbreak, remote is the standard practice, and video is the norm. In-person meetings have somewhat become the exception. 

Video is on the Rise

Well established businesses are obviously using video to conduct their operations, but startup businesses as well, are seeing live video as an absolute necessity for any kind of success. Not only are videos important just to conduct business, but consumers, now more than ever, expect live video engagement from the brands they love. 

In fact, more than three quarters of consumers engage with live video at least once a week, and many of them do so five or more times per week. Video catches attention as a kind of entertainment, but it also denotes a sense of honesty and consumers are more likely to trust a brand that engages in live video interactions. 

In other words, any startup that wants to get noticed and gain loyal customers needs to use live video regularly. 

There are many different platforms for hosting live videos. It can also be true that producing a quality live video is easier said than done. We’ve become so adept at using this kind of interaction. Also, we became well aware of the typical downsides and glitches that we can experience in the process. 

For instance, poor video quality due to lagging, lack of bandwidth, connection interruptions, and other issues, can all affect our ability to consistently produce a quality live video experience.
