Veo Robotics announced that Gray Solutions is now a certified systems integrator partner. The companies will bring 3D safeguarding to collaborative human-robot palletizing for consumer packaged goods (GPG) manufacturers.

Gray Solutions is an automation services provider for the food and beverage sector, one of the fastest growing sectors for robot orders according to the Association for Advancing Automation (A3). Purchases within the sector were up 29% in 2021 from 2020.

“Gray Solutions understands and has the ability to integrate new technologies like 3D dynamic safety, it is part of their DNA,” Ron Ledoux, regional sales manager at Veo Robotics, said. “They understand that FreeMove is the type of disruptive technology that can significantly change how a workcell is configured by enabling any size robot to work in a collaborative manner.”

Veo Robotics’ FreeMove is an advanced safety system for industrial workcells with human-robot collaboration. The system monitors speed and separation in 3D within robotic workcells. FreeMove makes it so that humans can work alongside robots safely.

“Veo’s FreeMove is the only product currently available with this level of safety design to unlock the true power of human-robot collaboration within the CPG market,” Sam Janes, senior robotics engineer at Gray Solutions, said.

With FreeMove, Gray Solution’s customers will be able to ensure the safety of their collaborative palletizing solutions. Robotic palletizing requires humans to enter a workcell and interact with a robot, and FreeMove means that manufacturers don’t have to sacrifice reach, speed or payloads for additional safety.

“We are excited to offer it as part of our Robotic solutions for CPG companies looking to adapt to change with more automated and flexible manufacturing practices while maintaining Safety and reducing footprint,” Sawyer Dillard, manager of advanced automation at Gray Solutions, said.

Veo Robotics was founded in 2016 by Patrick Sobalvarro, Clara Vu and Scott Denenberg in Waltham, Massachusetts. It has raised over $40 million in funding since its founding. It has partnerships with some major robot manufacturers, like FANUC, Yaskawa, ABB and Kuka.
