With further investment from at.inc/, Munich Re Ventures and Hyperplane, the funding round brought in $24m.
ShipIn is the first investment in the maritime space for Zeev, a company with over $2bn in assets under management and successful investments in household names like Audible, Tripactions and Uber Freight.
ShipIn’s FleetVision platform uses AI-powered onboard cameras and analytics to monitor activities on the ship from maintenance to loading and discharge. The platform can offer improvements in safety and compliance, efficiency, and log events for incident tracking and resolution.
FleetVision can monitor events onboard in real-time and issue a range of alerts to crew and shore staff. The platform also makes maritime insurance claims easier by maintaining an objective record, said ShipIn.
The company said the investment will be used to scale across the industry and improve the capabilities of its platform.
Osher Perry, CEO and Co-Founder of ShipIn Systems, said: “We’re thrilled to partner with Zeev Ventures to help maritime shipping become safer and more productive, and to bring data-driven visibility to an industry that had not previously benefited from access to these powerful tools. For the first time, ship owners, managers and crew can see the same information at the same time, and collaborate as if they are working shoulder-to-shoulder, despite being oceans apart.”
Oren Zeev, Founding Partner at Zeev Ventures, noted: “I’m excited to invest in the maritime space for the first time. With so much pressure on the global supply chain, this industry is changing rapidly and undergoing significant transformation. ShipIn is at the forefront of the maritime technology space, building an operating platform to advance and modernize global shipping fleets.”
